About me:

Business -
Prior to moving into the area over 23 years ago from Surrey, I had worked for a Loss Adjuster, a Specialist Industrial Chemical Distributor and then for over 8 years, a National House Building Plc. This covered experience involving Insurance Claims, Office & Accounts Manager roles and laterally as a Group Payroll Manager for over 1,200 staff covering 23 subsidiaries.

When the move to The Yorkshire Dales was completed, I was self employed, but subsequently took up an Office Manager role in a Vets Practice for over 5 years. More recently, for the past 12 years, I had been the Systems Accountant (having a varied remit) with a Manufacturing Company who traded internationally as well as in the UK. Having returned to self employment in 2019 it now gives me greater freedom in utilising my time.

K9 -

500th Dog now and still counting...

Through recent investigations, it has come to light that (as of 2023) I have been handling dogs for 54 years and I have trained and competed a range of dog breeds in the Show Ring, in Obedience Tests and in Agility Trials for the last 50 years.

In the 1980's I eventually specialised in Agility with my first Border Collie. We had 1st placings in many Championships (including finals held in Jersey), then achieved 6th in the UK at the Agility Dog of the Year finals held at Olympia - all some years ago now.

Between 2010 and 2014 I successfully set up and ran K9 Careers Dog Training School which had to cease abruptly due to ill health.

I semi-retired from office work in 2019 and set up Business & K9 Solutions which mostly covers dog training in it's many disciplines, although some business work is still undertaken.

The 2024 evening activities are shown on the right.

Puppy Training & Socialisation

When your puppy has received its final vaccinations from the vet, they can join in the puppy socialisation classes. The sooner you start, the better the outcome. You can learn the basics of training for the future and your puppy can start to learn more about life with you, your family and all aspects of the human world.

Obedience Training

Whether for basic training or for a more competitive edge, these classes are designed for dogs in the adolescent teenager stage and beyond.....

Trick Training

Designed primarily for the fun factor in creating a party piece or by joining the moves together for a display. However, this will also be your start of Heelwork to Music or Camera & TV work. Children and adults all welcome to join in. It's a great way to improve the relationship with your dog and let them think more, which is always a plus for them and their owners.

K9 Fun Club

This is a very popular class where both adults and children have the chance to pit their dog's skills and their own against one another in a fun way. No previous experience is necessary for this one. Together you will both learn how to negotiate the obstacles, handling techniques and then pick up a bit of speed. Alternatively, just potter round at your own pace - the choice is yours.

POINTS MAKE PRIZES are held periodically to crown the Leader Board winner.

Agility Training

The most addictive one and still very popular throughout the UK. This activity includes, Jumps, Tunnel, Tyre, Weaving Poles, Long Jump, See-Saw, Dog Walk and A-Frame. The 6-week courses alternate between Agility (Jumping) skills and Agility skills which uses the 3 contact pieces. Once you Graduate from the Beginners group, you will move to the Improvers group where you can start to enter the shows if you wish. Full guidance will be given on how to do this.

121 Dog Training - at a time to suit you.

1 to 1 Bespoke Dog Training to suit your dog's needs.
